Drowned Tree

Description
I don't remember which canyon this is, but it is in the southern section of Lake Powell. This is not an uncommon occurance, especially towards the shallower ends of the canyons. Since Lake Powell is in a desert, the water level fluctuates on a regular basis. It's always higher in the spring and drops in the fall. If there is not a lot of snow in the northern areas, the lake level will start lower. We were in a drought for many years, and so plants and trees began to grow at the backs of many canyons and are now dying as water levels rise again.
